Why God became Man

Everything in the universe is created of positive and negative forces which2345 balance each other. Atoms, electricity, gravity l involve by opposing forces. Perhaps you have heard it said many times that it sounds like a cliché, “opposites attract and likes repel each other.” This fundamental principle of charged interactions can be found throughout the universe. Everything from protons and electrons to love and hate, purity and immorality, truth and lying, wisdom and ignorance. For every action there is a reaction. Some actions result in balance while others create instability.

Most people believe God created the earth to be without sin, and that somehow Satan sneaked past God and caused Eve, then Adam, to sin spoiling Gods perfect creation. If this were true then God would not be the all – knowing God that He is and would be fallible, which He is not. God is perfect in every way. Satan, the serpent, was placed in the garden of Eden because God wanted him there. The tree of good and evil was also placed in the center of the garden of Eden to test man and his new mate. The fruit of the tree did not contain good and evil, it could have been any ordinary fruit tree. The sin came into place when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit because God intended them to even though they could have used their own free will and chosen not to. God determines every event that is necessary to complete His eternal purpose in Christ.

1369Now we come to the beginning of the negative forces of the universe. In Ezekiel 28 Lucifer, Satan the devil, is described as a seal of perfection, full of wisdom and beauty. He was in the garden of Eden and every precious stone adorned him. He was  anointed as a guardian cherub and ordained by God. He was on the holy mountain of God and walked among the fiery stones. He was blameless in his ways from the day he was created until wickedness was found in him. His business made him very rich and his heart became filled with violence. His pride in his heart placed him above the throne of God. In Isaiah 14:13-14 we have the five “ I will’s” of Satan,  “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; And I will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

Satan convinced one third of the angels to follow him and He led a great revolt. Then in Revelation 12:7–9 we are told, “And there was war in 321heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” In Luke 10:17 Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” Many Biblical scholars have surmised that when Satan was cast down from heaven that the earth became “without form and void,” as described in Genesis 1:2 Others have speculated the fall of Satan caused the destruction of the dinosaurs and started an entirely new ecological system on earth where God would eventually place man.

700The Bible says, “Satan is the father of all lies and there is no truth in him.” Truth is God, His Word and His Righteousness. It stands for Jehovah God which means, “The Lord is our Righteousness.” Lucifer fell from the truth by his own free will. A free will that man has inherited and is given the right to chose between good and evil. Satan told Adam and Eve if they ate of the forbidden fruit they would not die. This is where the real trouble started on earth because when Satan speaks a lie he speaks of his own character and will. Those of us who lie, or live a lie are the children of Satan.

Pride closes our mind to the truth. In Romans 8:6-7 the Apostle Paul says, “For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,  because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,  and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” Whoever lies on a continual basis is a servant to their lies. Pride blinds our mind to the need of spiritual blessings.  When we accept the Word of God as truth it sets us free from the bondage of sin and it delivers us from spiritual death.

All that Satan is and all that he is doing is ordained by God so that through Satan’s works God can be manifested to us. God allowed evil to come 701to us so that He might be able to show His mercy, love and compassion. If we had never sinned, how would God have the opportunity to show us the eternal riches of His grace.  He allowed Satan to enter into the Garden of Eden  to make it possible for us to overcome evil through His unmerited mercy through the death of His beloved sacrificial Son. We are confronted with His unknowable wisdom in providing salvation for us through faith in Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 3:8-10, Paul says, ” To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;  so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.” With all the power and control over so many angels and humans, Satan himself was completely unaware of the dispensation of the church.

Thanks to the fall of mankind God can now show His eternal wisdom through the cross. Through His almighty glory, His love and compassion can now be fulfilled in our life when we accept His Word that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He was crucified, buried and resurrected so that we may have a personal relationship with Him. Adam was neutral. Satan was the negative. Jesus Christ is the positive in which we will live by throughout all eternity. When we believe the Word of God, He attributes righteousness to us and He adopts us into His family so that we may be able to have a relationship with Him on His terms. How else might we begin to understand the manifold wisdom of God without first understanding the principles of our relationship.

702Thanks be to our Heavenly Father that His wisdom is beyond our understanding. That there are no accidents on this earth. That he will always work things out to His eternal glory. That mankind in the end will persevere through the loving relationship of our Father.  I may never fully understand or even comprehend the words in Romans 8:28-31 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;  and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? I know that through Him all things are possible.”
