Who is Jesus Christ

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were createdboth in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things have been created through Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.  For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.1  He is appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.2  He is the Alpha and the Omega, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.“I am the First and I am the Last. Besides Me there is no God.”4 He was revealed in the flesh, was vindicated in the spirit, seen by angles, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.6

He is eternal – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.  In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.  The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one.8 “These three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.  They are one nature, the same in Their attributes, in Their will and in Their purpose.” All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to Him less than nothing, and vanity. To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto Him?10

He is all powerful I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,  and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might  which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.  And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church,  which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.11

He is all knowing –  …He knew all men,  and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.12  So we have the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.13  Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”15

He is unchanging  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. 16  For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,  and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority. 7   We speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory;  the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.18

Seven hundred years before His birth Isaiah the prophet said, “For unto us a child is born,  Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulders. And His name will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting father, Prince of peace.”19  Mary, was found with child of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:  “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”20  For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.21

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.22  …In the beginning  He laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of His hands.23  God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;  who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself  purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,  having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.24

If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.25  Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.26   You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.27  For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,  looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.28  So want you please turn to Christ today by praying with me.

Dear heavenly Father,

I have trusted in my own ability all my life. Things just don’t seem to work out for me as it does other people. I realize now I need You as my Savior. Will You please come into my heart and forgive me my sins. Will You please lead me to do what is right so I may become part of Your glorious kingdom. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, Amen
